Grégoire Jacquot is a master’s candidate in technology and policy and electrical engineering and computer science. Passionate about international development, Grégoire is working on the design and implementation of universal energy access policies at the MIT Energy Initiative (MITEI) under the leadership of Professor Ignacio Pérez-Arriaga SM ’78, PhD ’81 and MITEI Deputy Director for Science and Technology Robert J. Stoner. Grégoire’s objective is to design integrated policies leveraging all possible electrification technologies within one grand national electrification strategy tailored to each country’s situation. As a member of the research team of the Global Commission to End Energy Poverty backed by the Rockefeller Foundation, Grégoire advises governments, power utilities, and international organizations in the implementation of his research in various sub-Saharan African countries.
