Engineering at Play
Multiple students and alumni
Companies with MIT roots are injecting DIY fun into learning about electronics. Makey Makey’s kits transform ordinary materials into electronic receptors—a flight of stairs into a piano, a banana into a computer mouse. littleBits’s electronic building blocks snap together to create circuit combinations and inventions large and small. Chibitronics’s Circuit Stickers blend art and engineering by connecting LED circuits on paper with conductive tapes. And with Roominate, kids build their own mini worlds with working elevators, merry-go-rounds, RVs, and more.
